IELTS Exam Preparation

IELTS Preparation Course prepares students who want to sit for IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

This IELTS exam preparation will build a learner’s ability to produce cohesive, coherent and grammatically accurate speech and written essays. Vast exposure to a variety of lexis will enable learners to understand, deal with and use vocabulary for academic purposes.

Lessons will consist of IELTS training centred around prescribed IELTS tasks with focus on skills-based acquisition.

What is IELTS Examination

IELTS, or International English Language Testing System, is the world’s most popular high-stakes English language proficiency test for study, work and migration with more than two million tests taken in the past year.

IELTS results are recognised by more than 10,000 organisations, including educational institutions, employers, professional associations and governments, in 140 countries around the world.

IELTS is jointly managed by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL).

IELTS for Higher Education

An IELTS score is required by students as evidence of English proficiency mainly by institutions of higher learning, colleges and universities.

Individual institutions and faculties set their own IELTS requirements according to the specific language needs of the course, study or work program.

IELTS Scores

There is no pass or fail in IELTS. Candidates are graded on their performance using scores from 1 to 9 for each part of the test – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

The results from the four parts then produce an Overall Band Score. Each band corresponds to a level of English competence. All parts of the test and the Overall Band Score can be reported in whole and half bands, eg 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0.

IELTS Classes

IELTS Classes for IELTS test preparation are conducted from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm or 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm from Monday – Friday and will cover all the four language skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.

IELTS, known as the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), is one of the famous International English standardized tests.The IELTS test was set up in 1989 and is administered jointly by the British Council, Cambridge University Examinations Board and Education International Development Australia (IDP).[2]

Adhering to the concept of “communication-oriented”, IELTS is the world’s first international test that comprehensively evaluates students’ English ability in listening, speaking, reading and writing. It is able to accurately and comprehensively evaluate candidates’ English language proficiency.As the internationally recognized international English test, IELTS is recognized by 10,000 institutions in more than 140 countries and regions, and more than 3 million people take ielts every year.[3] In China, IELTS and Puss became the first international English test to conduct docking research with the China English Proficiency Rating Scale after connecting with the Common Reference Framework for European Languages.[4]

On January 15, 2019, the China National Education Examinations Authority and the British Council jointly released the results of the research on the docking between IELTS, general Thinking Test and the China English Proficiency Rating Scale in Beijing.Ielts became the first test to complete the connection with the China English Proficiency Rating Scale.The docking results show the critical scores of ielts, GENERAL Thinking test and total scores corresponding to the relevant grades of the Chinese English Proficiency Rating Scale.[5]

On April 20, the Ministry of Education examination Center (MOE) announced that all ielts tests in Mainland China for May 2020 will be cancelled, and the test fee will be refunded to the candidates’ personal account.The center said it will update and inform the registration and test arrangements for ielts and TOEFL after May 2020 based on the progress of epidemic prevention and control.[6] On May 26, the Ministry of Education examination Center issued a notice that the June 2020 IELTS test will be cancelled, and the test fee will be refunded to the candidates’ individual registration accounts.[7]
