SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace
What is SkillsFuture For Digital Workplace
SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace is a national initiative aimed to equip Singaporeans with the mindset and basic functional skills to prepare for the future economy.
Understand the modern and future digital workplace
The use of digital technology in the workplace has been on the rise, and it will continue to shape the kinds of jobs in Singapore’s future economy. To be future-ready is not just about technical skills; it involves being aware of modern and future digital technology and data trends, plus having the confidence to welcome and anticipate changes.
This foundational course will kickstart your journey to digital literacy, equipping you with the right mindset and relevant knowledge to tackle the disruptions brought about by workplace digitisation. With your newfound knowledge and confidence, tap into new possibilities that emerging technologies would bring.

advantages
1. Compared with analog signals, digital signals are processed signals. The machining signal has good stability for the external environment and circuit conditions with clutter and distortion. It can be said that digital signals are suitable for video recorders with easy clutter and waveform distortion and for long-distance transmission.Digital signal transmission has the advantages of good stability and high reliability.
2. Digital signals require the use of integrated circuits (IC) and large scale integrated circuits (ISI) [2], and digital signals are easily processed by computers.Digital signals are also suitable for digital stunts and image processing.
3. Simple digital signal processing circuit. It does not have the various adjustments in the analog circuit, so the circuit works steadily and technicians can be freed from the daily adjustment work. For example, in an analog camera, more than 100 variable resistors are used.In some places these variable resistors need to be adjusted as well as the camera’s recording characteristics. All kinds of adjustments have subtle influences on each other, and need to be adjusted repeatedly, so that the camera can be close to a perfect working state. The camera is still the minor electronic device in television broadcasting equipment. If the camera is 100% digital, no adjustments are needed. For the manufacturer, the cost of the camera is reduced. For TV stations, skilled engineers are not needed and the production time is shortened.
4. Digital signals are easy to compress. This is a major advantage for digital cameras.
disadvantages
1. Compared with analog signal, digital signal itself is indeed less affected by external clutter, but it cannot recognize the clutter of analog signal itself transformed into digital signal. Therefore, the analog/digital (A/D) converter used to convert analog signals into digital signals cannot distinguish image signals from clutter.
2. Digital processing will cause damage to image quality and sound quality. In other words, after analog → digital → analog processing, how much will make the image quality, sound quality has been reduced.Strictly speaking, the recovery from the digital signal to the analog signal will inevitably be damaged when compared with the original analog signal. This is closely related to the following disadvantages.
3. The information content of analog signals will expand explosively after digitization. To digitize an analog signal with a bandwidth of (f), sampling must be used at a frequency of approximately (2f+), and the image signal must be quantized using 8 bits (bits are unit pulses).
Specifically, if the bandwidth of the image signal is 5MHz, at least 13×106 to 14×106 times (13M to 14M times) should be sampled, and 8 bits should be used to represent the digital signal. So the total number of digital signals is about 100 million bits per second. Not to mention that this is an astronomical figure, in terms of its capacity, it is also difficult for integrated circuits to handle.
So the problem is not with digitization per se.However, in order to improve the quality of digital images, more information needs to be added. This is the digital technology needs to solve the problem, but also the basic problem of digital signal.
